LAKELAND, Fla. – The UWF women's golf team posted a top-10 finish in the Lady Moc Classic at Grasslands Golf Club on Tuesday.
 
UWF registered a 54-hole score of 917 for a ninth-place finish. They shot a final round 305 to move up two spots from their 11th-place tie following Monday's 36-holes of play.
 
Junior Solange Gomez continued to improve her play with each round since returning from injury. She has played five rounds this Spring and lowered her score in each of the four rounds that followed the initial 18 two weeks ago. This week, she tied for 19th place with a 75-74-73=222, 6-over-par performance.
 
Freshman Alia Scotka tied for 34th at 72-76-78=226. Her opening round 72 was tied for her second lowest round this year.
 
Junior Ronja Taipale, sophomore Payton Pacheco and sophomore Sophie Shrader were all one stroke apart from each other. Taipale tied for 65th at 79-80-78=237, Pacheco was tied for 67t at 81-81-76=238 and Shrader tied for 69th at 75-81-83=239.
 
Lynn won the event with an 8-shot cushion, totaling a 869, 5-over-par tally. Anderson was second at 877
 
The Argonauts will play their next three tournaments in Northwest Florida, beginning with the Emerald Coast Collegiate at Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, March 13-15.
