MOUNT BERRY, GA - The University of West Florida men's tennis team capped off a standout weekend at the ITA Cup National Championship with Diego Duran and Sebastian Rondon claiming the doubles crown and punching their ticket to the ITA Cup. The Argonaut duo rolled through the bracket and sealed the championship with a thrilling 3-6, 75, 76 victory in Sunday's final.
Duran and Rondon entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed and delivered from start to finish. After a dominant straight-set win in the Round of 16, the pair continued their momentum with a commanding 6-0, 6-3 result in the quarterfinals. They advanced to the final after ousting Harding's Adrian Solorzano and Cian Mikkelsen 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals. Their championship match showcased resilience and composure as they rallied from a set down to claim the regional title and a berth in the national stage.
It was also a memorable weekend for Duran in singles play. The Argonaut standout advanced through a stacked draw and competed in the tournament championship, and finishing as the National Runner Up.
