FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – In the final tournament of the fall season the No. 3 University of West Florida men's golf team placed ninth at the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invite hosted by Golfweek on Monday and Tuesday.
The Argos recorded an 879 as a team (+15) in the field that was made up of mostly top-25 teams in the country.
UWF had a slow start in the first two rounds with
Max Page leading the team after round one with a 72. Page dropped back after a second round 78, but rebounded on the final day with a 71 (-1) to finish five over for the tournament. He finished tied for 35th place.
In the second round
TJ Thompson began to make a run with a two-under 70. The junior posted just one bogey in the round. He then finished with a 69 on the final day to compete the tournament at two under par which was good for a tie of seventh place.
The Argos complete the fall portion of the schedule with two top-five finishes out of their four tournaments.
The team will start back up on Feb. 9 at the Matlock Collegiate Classic hosted by Florida Southern.
