Volleyball Releases 2025 Schedule

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida volleyball team will begin its season on Sept. 5 at home with the SpringHill Suites Invitational. The Argos are looking to claim their 14th Gulf South Conference title this season after defeating the University of Alabama in Huntsville in the finals last year.

"We are really excited to get the 2025 season underway," said head coach Melissa Wolter. "We have a really challenging preseason schedule featuring some expected AVCA Top 25 teams, including another outstanding field for our Springhill Suites Invitational and another trip out to Denver for the Colorado Premier.  The GSC is going to be some great competition this year, as well.  There are a lot of returning coaches who will have some great seasoned squads.  This year we will get challenged early and often and it will be a great opportunity for our team to continue to improve throughout the season."

UWF will host Wheeling, Southwest Minnesota State, Northern Michigan and Spring Hill in the opening season SpringHill Suites Invitational. All four teams the Argos face finished last season with at least 20 wins.

The team will then depart for the Colorado Premier Challenge hosted by Regis University where the Argos will face one of its toughest challenges of the season in Ferris State. The Bulldogs went 34-1 last season and advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. UWF is 1-1 all time with Ferris State, winning the last matchup 3-2 in September of 2019.

Prior to heading into GSC play, UWF will travel to Tampa, Fla. for the Mini-Crossover with Florida Southern (Sept. 19) and University of Tampa (Sept. 20).

The Argos will begin conference action on Sept. 23 on the road at Valdosta. The first home match outside of the SpringHill Suites Invitational will be on Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. against UAH.
In total, UWF has 14 home matches this season.

Last season the team finished with a 27-6 overall record and perfect 20-0 record in the GSC.
