2015-16 UWF Women's Golf Schedule
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's golf team has released its schedule for the 2015-16 season. UWF has won four consecutive Gulf South Conference championships, and reigning GSC Coach of the Year
Bryan Clarke has been at the helm for the last three.
"The schedule we've put together is going to test the girls," Clarke said. "We return most of our players from last year, and it's going to test them early with a good field at the Rollins tournament, so we'll kick it off there. It's going to be a great tournament when we get to go out west for the NCAA preview, which will be a really nice trip for the girls, and they'll see the course for nationals that we hopefully get to."
The Argonauts kick off the season with the first of four fall tournaments at the Ross Resorts Invitational at Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina, on September 14-15. UWF will then travel to Aurora, Colorado, for the NCAA Women's Golf Preview on September 28-29. West Florida wraps up the fall schedule with two-day tournaments hosted by Nova Southeastern University and Saint Leo University, beginning on October 12 and October 19, respectively.
UWF will compete in five tournaments during the spring, starting with the World Golf Invitational, hosted by Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, on February 7-8. West Florida visits Florida Southern College for the Lady Moc Classic on February 22-23, and will head to Winter Springs, Florida, for the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational hosted by Rollins College the following weekend.
In their lone tournament in March, the Argonauts travel to the University of Southern Mississippi for the 2016 Golden Eagle Invitational on March 7-8, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. UWF finishes the regular season with the annual Argonaut Invitational, this year played at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pace on April 4-5.
This year's GSC Championship will take place in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, from April 17-19, and the Super Region 2 tournament will be played at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pace on May 2-4. The NCAA tournament will be hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver at Commonground Golf Club in Aurora, Colorado, beginning May 18 and concluding on May 21.
In pursuit of a fifth consecutive conference title, UWF will bring back three all-conference players from last season, including three-time all-conference performer
Elin Olsson (Mantorp, Sweden/Bildningscentrum Facetten). Joining Olsson are
Daisy-May Kenny (Purley, England/Woodcote HS), a two-time All-GSC player, and
Lauren Lamm (Punta Gorda, Fla./Daytona State), an All-GSC First Team player last season.
