PENSACOLA, Fla. – Due to expected poor weather in the Pensacola area, the University of West Florida has announced changes in the baseball and softball series against Montevallo originally slated for Friday and Saturday.
The softball team will now play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 pm, and the series finale will follow on Saturday at 1 pm as well, all at the UWF Softball Complex.
The team is 21-10 overall with a 15-6 Gulf South Conference record, good for fourth place in the conference. West Florida is coming off a sweep over Union and saw senior
Kelsey Sweatt earn Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week honors after her work in the series.
The baseball program will now a play a doubleheader on Sunday, April 11, beginning at 3 pm with the final game of the series taking place on Monday, April 12, at 1 pm at Jim Spooner Field in Pensacola, Florida.
UWF comes into the match-up at 22-6 overall, with a 21-6 record in the Gulf South Conference. The Argonauts have won 10 of their last twelve games, which includes seven-straight series wins with the last two series wins coming on the road.
