COMPLETE AVCA PRESEASON TOP 25 POLL
 
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The UWF women's volleyball team will begin the 2022 season ranked No. 5 nationally following the release of the AVCA Division II Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday.
 
UWF also received one first place vote among the 47 voters. Defending national champion Tampa earned 41 votes and was slotted first, followed by Washburn, Western Washington and MSU Denver ahead of the Argonauts. WWU and MSU received the other five first place votes.
 
UWF ended the 2021 season ranked fifth following a 35-2 record that saw the program host the NCAA South Regional for the first time ever. The Blue and Green won the Gulf South Conference regular-season and tournament titles on their way to competing in the NCAA Tournament for the 15th-consecutive year.
 
The Argos are the first GSC program listed in the AVCA preseason Top 10 since 2007 and just the second all-time.
 
UWF is the first GSC team in the preseason Top 5 since 2004, pulling in the third-highest preseason ranking in league history (UNA No. 2 in 2001, UNA No. 4 in 2004).
 
The Argos open the season at home with the Springhill Suites Invitational, August 25-27, hosting Central Missouri, Lees-McRae, Spring Hill and Wheeling.
