BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The University of West Florida baseball team sits at the top of the GSC Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll for the 2025 season. The Argos led with 112 points and seven first places votes amongst the Gulf South Conference coaches.
 
Lee followed with 107 points and two first places votes and Delta State tallied three first place votes for 103 total points.
 
UWF will face Lee and Delta State in the regular season (Feb 28-29, April 4-5).
 
The Argos completed the 2024 season with a 35-23, 17-13 GSC record. They were crowned back-to-back GSC Tournament titles for the first time in program history and were the second program at UWF to win three GSC titles in four years. The Argos went on to appear in back-to-back NCAA regional championships – falling to Embry-Riddle, 16-10.
Four strong players return for their senior season and have been named Preseason All-GSC. Starting pitchers Dalton Neuschwander, Kade Manderscheid and Jacob Heath will head back to the mound for UWF and Jadon Fryman will continue to make his way to the outfield.
 
Neuschwander and Manderscheid were named All-GSC First Team in the 2024 season and Heath and Fryman took second team.
 
Neuschwander and Manderscheid both went 8-4 on the mound. Neuschwander led the pitching squad with a 3.70 ERA and 90.0 IP with Manderscheid and Health following with an ERA above 4.00.
 
Fryman leads the returners with a .353 batting average and .592 slugging percentage. He additionally leads the returners across the board in runs (52), hits (73), doubles (14), triples (1) and home runs (8). Fryman finished with a .984 fielding percentage last season for 122 catches and 119 putouts.
 
The Argos open the season on the road in Lakeland, Florida to take on Florida Southern in a three-game series (Jan. 31-Feb. 2).
 
UWF's home opener will be Friday, Feb. 7 against Rollins at Jim Spooner Field for a two-game series.
