BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released the 2025 Softball Season Awards and All-GSC teams early Wednesday morning. The UWF Argonauts are well represented, winning two major awards and placing six names on their All-Conference teams.
Senior center fielder
Gianna Guerriero is the GSC Co-Player of the Year, sharing the honor with Valdosta State's Aniston Gano. Guerriero is also the 2025 GSC Golden Glove winner, given to the conference's best defensive player.
She is the first player to win the prestigious Player of the Year honor for the Argos since
Teala Howard won it in 2022. She is the fifth Argo in program history to win it. The Argos have now won two-straight Golden Glove awards, as Guerriero joins
Madelyn Vasquez as the only other player to win it in UWF softball history.
The Hainesport, New Jersey native finished the GSC regular season first in stolen bases (37) and triples (9), second in hits (74), runs (49) and batting average (.428), seventh in OPS (1.036) and tenth in doubles (10).
Guerriero joins
Hannah Harper as the two Argos representing UWF on the First Team All-GSC list, with Harper earning the spot at the utility position. It is the second time for both Harper and Guerriero to earn first team All-GSC honors in their career.
Haley Guffey,
Erin Moon, and
Emma Brice represent the Argos on the Second Team All-GSC selections. Guffey earned second team pitcher honors while Moon and Brice earned second team catcher and second base honors respectively. It is the first All-GSC honor for Guffey and Brice, and the third for
Erin Moon (2023, 2024, 2025).
