HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The 2025 season for UWF women's Cross Country continues to be historic, as three Argos set top-10 program times at the UAH Chargers XC Invitational Saturday morning, including a new program record. 
 
Jessica Chappell ran the first ever sub-22 women's 6K in UWF program history, earning a new record of 21:55.2 and beating fellow teammate Elyse Carmichael's previous record time of 22:02. Chappell's record and personal best 6K time earned her a 16^th overall finish out of 250 total runners on 26 teams. 
 
Top-10 program record times from Carmichael and Chloe Rook also assisted in the successful day at John Hunt Park, as the Argos placed sixth out of 26 teams at the meet. Carmichael placed 24^th out of 250 with her second current top 10 program time in the 6K at 22:07.8. Rook ran a 22:36.1 for the eighth fastest time in program history and placed 37^thoverall. 

The Argos finished ahead of fellow DII south region teams in Embry Riddle, Christian Brothers, West Alabama, Montevallo, and Valdosta State.
 
There were other personal successes all across the final times of the Argos Saturday morning, as the race saw five total personal records set and seven season best times. Sydney Orth finished inside the top 70, placing 65^th out of 250 with a 23:03.5 and setting a personal record. 
 
Madison Sims set a personal record and season best with her 23:30.2 6K finish, placing 85^th. Sierra Howard accomplished the same feat with a 23:50.5 final time and finished 106^th.
 
Kristen Bouington continues her senior season with another personal record, running a 23:53.7 and placing 110^th. Gwen Shamel set a season best of 24:41.5 and finished 135^th. Olivia Noack also set a season best with her final of 25:18.5. 
 
Julia Alvarez Drago and Ambrea Hobbs completed the day for the Argos, placing 166^th and 213^th with times of 25:29.4 and 27:32.8 respectively. 
 
The Argos are seventh in the DII south region rankings with a month to go before NCAA Regionals.
