UWF Athletics Hall of Fame
After falling to Valdosta State in the GSC semifinals in 2004, the UWF men’s tennis team was hungry for revenge. The Argos found themselves up against a similar foe in the NCAA National Championship, this time, taking down VSU 5-2 in the title match. The national title was the program’s first.
The Argos went 30-2 overall – 30 wins set the school record for victories in a season at that time (the 2017 squad surpassed with 32 wins).
Radovan Chrz was stellar on the court, taking home multiple honors: ITA South Region Senior Player of the Year, All-American (singles and doubles), GSC Top Eight Award winner and All-GSC First Team.
Joining Chrz as an All-American was German Dalmargo (doubles), Guillame DeVerbizier (singles) and Paulius -Jurkenas (singles) for the honor.
DeVerbizier showed his exceptional talent and was named GSC Player of the Year prior to being named All-American.
Led by Chrz and DeVerbizier, Paulius Jurkenas and Jonas Mouly also grabbed All-GSC First Team accolades.
