UWF Athletics Hall of Fame
Otto Bonning came to UWF as a 23-year-old freshman and left as a 4-time all-conference performer, an All-American and part of a team national championship.
The native of Falsterbo, Sweden - in the southern tip of the country - posted a 73.45 stroke average from 2007-11 during his UWF career, which was fifth at the time and is currently 14th in the Argo Record Book. He was a 3-time All-South Region player and a Third Team All-America selection in 2010.
Additionally, he had 48 rounds at par or better which is eighth at UWF and is one of only three men's golfers to rank in the top six at UWF in both career birdies (5th with 341) and eagles (4th with 11).
The Argonauts won their final five tournaments of his freshman season on their way to the 2008 Division II Men's Golf National Championship, claiming the title in a playoff. UWF also won the 2008 and 2011 Gulf South Conference tournaments during his time in Pensacola.
Bonning was later named to the 2010s GSC All-Decade Team and graduated from UWF in 2012 with a degree in Sports Management. He is currently a business development manager for Genius Sports in London.
He and his fiancé Annika, have a 15-month-old son named Elton.
