Felipe Lawall celebrating after a goal at the 2006 NCAA Championships
Felipe Lawall was an impact player for the West Florida men’s soccer team from 2003 to 2006. He led the team to Gulf South Conference championships in 2003 and 2006, as well as an NCAA semifinalist run in his senior year. He finished his career as one of three Argonauts selected to the GSC All-Time second team.

Lawall, a native of Sorocaba, Brazil, was an NSCAA All-America second team pick in 2006 and a two-time all-region selection. He was a postseason hero for the Argonauts, earning all-tournament team honors at the 2006 NCAA Division II Championships and two GSC tournaments.

After playing only two complete seasons, Lawall ranks fifth in school history with 32 goals and fourth in assists with 21. His 15 assists during the 2006 season still stand as a single season school record.

Lawall has stayed involved with the sport, coaching at Washington High School in Pensacola as well as the Gulf Coast Texans. He is currently a physical education teacher at Montclair Elementary School in Pensacola, and he has three children: Felipe Augusto Colley Lawall (8), Jolie Elizabeth Colley Lawall (7) and Leonardo Augusto Colley Lawall (5).

UWF Athletics Hall of Fame Questionnaire
1. What was your most memorable moment in UWF athletics?
It is hard to pick only one moment, as I have great memories from my time at UWF. But I would say walking into a packed Ashton Brosnaham Park to play the NCAA final four game in front of our fans was probably the most memorable one.

2. Being a former student-athlete, how has it helped you in your life after college?
It helped me in many ways. Being a student-athlete taught me about discipline and responsibility. It also helped me to learn how to manage my time.
