University of West Florida

Joann Tobin brought strong talent to the UWF softball team in 1988-1989. In 1987, the Michigan native qualified for All-American Honors and Academic All-American at Oakland Community College. Tobin holds the majority of UWF season records after only one season at the university and set records in number of wins, strikeouts and innings pitched.

Tobin collected 28 wins for the season after playing in 38 games. She pitched 258.3 innings with 103 strikeouts and only 31 walks. She pitched a no-hitter against Southeastern Louisiana State University, earning her the recognition of one of the strongest female pitchers to come through UWF athletics.
