Richard Dixon was a memorable four-year player for UWF men’s soccer. He helped UWF to a 49-21-9 record during his career.
As a midfielder, Dixon racked up 12 goals and five assists. He is the only UWF athlete in history to be named a four-time All-Region player.
Dixon just retired from soccer professionally after 11 years and has transitioned to coaching. Currently, he is the Head of Performance at Chattanooga Football Club and has a four-year-old daughter Isabella.
“My most memorable moment in UWF athletics is winning 3 GSC championships in a row and all the friendship and brotherhood that was created through the game of soccer,” said Dixon.
“Being a former student-athlete has helped me in my life a tremendous deal in many different ways. It prepared me for living my dream of being a professional athlete and also gave me a great foundation academically to persue a career after athletics in a field that I love.”
“I want to thank Coach Bill Elliott and all the faculty at UWF for creating an environment that student-athletes can come in and grow to better prepare them for life. I will be forever grateful for all the lessons that I learned and all the great people that I met in my time at UWF. It has truly made me a better human being and a better leader today.”
