Men's Basketball Coach, 1994-2009
16 seasons as head coach, restarting the program in 1994 after being inactive since 1976
239-198 (.547) winning pct. at UWF
Winningest coach in UWF men's basketball history
One of just 12 GSC coaches with 200-plus victories

When Don Hogan was hired to restart the UWF men’s basketball program prior to the 1993-94 season, little did anyone know the impact he would have while leading the Argonauts during the next 16 seasons. The impact he had has continued to be felt long after his departure in 2009.

He coached more than 150 players and had 16 earn All-GSC honors including 2003 East Division Player of the Year Reggie Warren.

His teams produced double-digit win totals every season in Pensacola, were at 500 or better 12 times and qualified for the postseason eight times.

The 1997-98 season saw a then school-record 20 victories as the team finished in second place in the Gulf South Conference and advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament in their first appearance.

Hogan won a school record 239 games at UWF and was one of the top coaches in the Gulf South Conference during his stay. In 2005 he became the ninth coach in conference history to eclipse the 200 victories mark.

He left after the 2009 season to join his playing and coaching mentor Cliff Ellis at Coastal Carolina. He is currently the athletic director of Lake County Schools in central Florida.

Hogan joins former coaches Marvin Beck and Bob Stinnett as Hall of Fame inductees.
