

Jerry Fogle played men’s basketball at UWF from 1996-1998 as one of the leading record setters in UWF history. He played for Coach Don Hogan as a guard and was named to the 1997 All-GSC First Team and the 1998 All-GSC Second Team. Fogle has 28 records that still rank in the UWF top 10 All-Time.
As a high school senior, Fogle averaged 25.1 points and 5.0 assists, leading to his recognition as a 3-time Most Valuable Player and the school’s leading scorer. He was then selected to the Kentucky All-Star squad for the Kentucky-Indiana All-Star Series. Fogle transferred as an NCAA Division I player from Morehead State University.
His freshman year, he played in 28 games, starting in 15. He averaged 9.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Fogle scored a season high of 31 points and was listed on the All-Freshman squad in the Ohio Valley Conference. In 1996, he redshirted and had a short season due to an injury.
In 1997 for UWF, Fogle led the GSC in scoring at 19.2 points per game and was in the top ten in the conference for three-point shooting. During that season, he also set the single-game scoring record with 39 points” a record that stood for 26 years until Ellis Young III broke it in 2013.
Throughout his career, he scored in double figures in 48 of the 54 games he played in and led the team in scoring 27 times. He finished his career with 958 points, listing him as the sixth in school history ranking. He also finished with a 17.7 scoring average, the second in UWF history.
