Jimmy McHenry wasn't initially planning on attending UWF. After two seasons at Darton College in Albany, Georgia, he wasn't playing soccer. But UWF men's head coach Bill Elliott called him to gage his interest in coming to play for the Argonauts.

"I had known about UWF since high school and at junior college," McHenry said. "I actually didn't play a season and coach Elliott called one year and said 'Do you still want to play.' So that January I enrolled."

From there, McHenry flourished as part of a team that never lost to a Gulf South Conference team and appeared in the NCAA Tournament both years, helping lead the Argos to the 2006 national semifinals. UWF went 38-3-3 during his time in Pensacola.

The Tallahassee native was a two-time All-South Region and All-GSC selection. He was voted onto the GSC All-Tournament Team both years and was the Most Outstanding Player in 2007.

He finished his career with 29 goals, 20 assists and 88 points which are all currently sixth in program history and the most by a two-year player.

McHenry is the ninth men's soccer player to be enshrined in the UWF Hall of Fame and the fifth who played on the 2006 team.

"I had a great time at UWF and will always remember playing there," McHenry added. "There was something special about that 2006 team. We were all so close and we have stayed close forever."

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management. After teaching and coaching at Tate High School, he transitioned into a career with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. He has spent the past three years living in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

Jimmy and his wife Colleen have two boys, Henry and Colton.
