UWF Athletics Hall of Fame
Frank Leo competed as a stand-out golfer at UWF. He was a Division II PING All-American in both 1998 and 1999. He finished tied for 15th at the 1999 NCAA Division II National Championships. In high school, Leo became a 5-year letterman and one of the youngest players to qualify for the New York State Tournament. He won the Long Island Junior Championship in 1993. After moving to Florida, he was an All-Conference, All-County and All-District performer. In 1995, Leo was named the Palm Beach Player of the Year and the District Champion at Palm Beach Gardens High School.
Throughout his four-year career at UWF, Leo finished in the top 10 in nearly every regular season tournament. Twice, he qualified for the Division II National Championships, and he placed 10th in the NAIA National Championships in 1996. He captured the medalist honors among the 16-team NCAA Division II field at the Southeastern Collegiate at the Valdosta Country Club in 1996 by shooting one-over-par.
He earned All-Region Honors at the NAIA Southeastern Regional, leading UWF to a fourth-place team finish. In 1998, he finished in the KSL Fairways Collegiate in the Top 20.
