Every athlete works as hard as possible to be the best they can at their given sport. But when an injury derails that path to greatness, what happens next?

Kevin Ducros was on such a path only to injure his knee in the middle of his career and undergo surgery, forcing him to miss the 2011 season. But the native of Aix-en-Provence, France didn't let that deter him from returning stronger than ever.

Ducros was an immediate success on the court as a freshman, earning All-American status and being named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year. He continued that success his sophomore year before injuring his knee in the beginning of his junior season.

The Argonaut was awarded a medical redshirt, and he bounced back from the injury to be named the No. 7 player in Division II by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and lead UWF to an NCAA Finals appearance in the spring of 2012.

Ducros continued his success his senior year while continuing to battle chronic knee problems en route to finishing the season ranked No. 9 in the nation, leading UWF to an NCAA semifinals appearance and being named the ITA South Region Senior Player of the Year.

Ducros graduated with a bachelor's degree in the fall of 2012 and maintained a 3.22 cumulative GPA after a semester of graduate school during the spring of 2013. He was named a unanimous pick to the GSC All-Academic Team.

He capped his career by winning the GSC Commissioner's Trophy as the top student-athlete in the league. He was just the second men's tennis player in league history to earn the award and the first from UWF.

He currently lives in Miami, Florida where he is a business broker/realtor and co-owner of a property management company.
