From 2005-09, Marcela Franco was one of the most dominant offensive players in program history. She finished among the top 10 in the school record book with 44 goals, 22 assists and 110 points.
 
Franco was a Second Team NSCAA All-America in 2009, a Daktronics All-America in 2008, a 3-time All-Gulf South Conference selection and twice earned GSC All-Tournament team honors, including the Most Outstanding Player as a sophomore in 2006.
 
The midfielder from Sao Paulo, Brazil earned six combined All-South Region plaques from the coaches and the media, in addition to three All-America honors.
 
Franco was a NSCAA Scholar All-America in 2009, a 2-time GSC Fall All-Academic Team honoree and was a GSC First Team All-Time Team selection for players in the 1990s and 2000s.
 
UWF went 81-6-7 (.899) overall and 25-0 in GSC regular-season play, while winning 3 GSC Tournaments in her four seasons. The Argonauts also appeared in four NCAA Tournaments, reaching the national final in 2008 & national semifinal in 2009.
