Andrej Tonejc was a fierce competitor on the tennis courts from 1992 to 1995, as he brought multiple awards and prestige to the UWF Tennis program. He was the first at West Florida to post as a Quarter finalist in singles at the NAIA competition. He made Academic All-American two years and All-American Singles and Doubles three years each. His true talent came through when he won the NAIA Doubles National Championship in 1992 with partner Sorin Cherebetiu. In 1995, he successfully competed in his first year at the Gulf South Conference and made All-GSC. Also in 1995, Tonejc was a NAIA Graduate Scholarship Award Winner.
